Name: "Amber Zemek"

I see the narrator more as a student than a teacher. No one knows all, we never stop learning, unless you are kicked off your rocker. Yet even then, you become an influence on somebody. Its like dominos, once one has fallen the rest is implicated and fall too. In this story the narrator is a school  teacher, he has control on what they learn, what they can take in and apply to their future. He the older brother, feels obligated to take care of Sonny, he feels as if he has to be the teacher. That he is completely responsible for whatever happens to Sonny. As he tries to understand what Sonny is trying to get out of being a musician, he is learning also. He is trying to help and support Sonny and his decision to take a path that can lead to unfortunate events. To Sonny his brother can never understand everything, he did not go through the traumatic events that Sonny did, so it wasn't worth the trouble to tell him why he has chosen this career. When Sonny takes his brother to the nightclub he understands and can express some similar feelings. He can see that this is Sonny's escape from the pain, music is the way he can express himself without being judged or criticized. In the end Sonny's choices have been accepted and appreciated by his brother and they all lived happily ever after.   :)
